Kade Puckett this Saturday

On Saturday, June 2nd, my friend Kade Puckett will be performing at my Main St. Gallery located at 118 N. Main St., Linton, Indiana.  If you don't know him already, Kade is one of the best fingerstyle guitar players in the country.  He's also a seasoned showman, a genuinely nice guy, and a great reason make the trip to Linton on Saturday night.  Doors open at 5pm and Kade goes on at 8pm.  This is a free concert, open to the public.

Check him out on YouTube...

Bring the Heat

Summer Home
oil on canvas
20" x 24"

It's been a while, I know.  Blogging has been pretty low on my list of priorities as of late, but I hate being your daily bookmark disappointment...sorry.

School is out, I'm on steroids, and Lando Calrissian is making pop music relevant again.  Oh, and how about that Lebron James?  I hope your grills are hot and your beers are cold this weekend...ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.

Plein Air Happened

We painted 28 pictures, didn't get arrested, and now I have sciatica...perfect weekend.

Carmel will forever be the same.  Thanks for everything everybody.

Plein Air Spirits

Waiting on the Wind
oil on canvas
16" x 20"

That's right...Larry and I are doing a show in Carmel, Indiana at the Hoosier Salon Gallery.  And we've decided to do things a little differently...

Here's what you need to know...

On Thursday, May 10th, you're invited to the Hoosier Salon Gallery to see a bunch of pictures we painted outdoors.  We picked out a group of work we think is very "plein air"...the fast stuff, the ugly stuff, the fun stuff.  We'll also be displaying 24 blank canvases that evening.  That's right...blank, empty, bare.

During this "preview event", we'll select our subjects from a hat (e.g., an alleyway, a green automobile pre-1998, a late night patron of a drinking establishment willing to pose on the sidewalk for $5 OR a slice of cold pizza) and then we'll pick which blank canvas they'll be painted on.  Heck, we'll even throw a price tag on them so you can buy the picture before we paint it...not kidding.  The painting marathon will start that night at the gallery for those who want a free demo.
4-7pm

On Saturday, May 12th, we'll have our second opening reception.  There will be food, wine, art schmoozing, and with any luck, lots of hollering and roughhousing.  Oh, and we'll have those blank canvases covered with an array of entertaining and aesthetically pleasing subjects.  We'll let you touch the wet paint, if you need the proof.
5-9pm

We're going to put on one hell of a show and we're going to have one hell of a good time doing it...and you're invited.
