Top 40

Next Saturday, Dec. 12, my "Top 40" exhibit will open at the Carnegie Heritage & Arts Center of Greene County. I will be showing my favorite 40 paintings from 2015. The opening reception will be from 5-8pm on the 12th.

Now for the fun stuff...
Each painting in the show will be reproduced as a 1/1 giclee print. These will be the only reproductions of my work available until the next "Top 40" show, Dec. 2016. If you're one of the first 40 visitors, you'll be given your choice of print...FREE. But...

YOU CAN'T KEEP IT. You'll also be given an envelope, postage paid, for you to address yourself...but not to yourself.

So get to the opening early, come with the mailing address of a friend or loved one, and give somebody special some art for the holidays.

Here's one for the show...

Thanks

Yesterday I had around a thousand hits on my new website.  I also sold a bunch of paintings.  Cyber Monday was a huge success.

It sure feels great knowing there are other people out there that love what I do.  And as much as I'll insist that my painting is all about me and my self-indulgence, the love I feel on a daily basis doesn't go unnoticed.  I'm very grateful for such great friends. Thank you.

Here's a painting I'd forgotten about.  I really like it now...don't know why it was in the archives.

New Website

There are still a few issues, but my website has been updated with a lot of recent work and new pages for upcoming shows and workshops.  If you're looking to put an upcoming opening on your calendar, needing a supply list for next week's workshop, or just want to browse through available paintings...this is the page you'll want to bookmark.  It's also got links to this blog and my Facebook page, which you're more than welcome to "like".  A big thank you goes out to all of my followers.  I never thought I'd be in a position where people would be searching for me online...needless to say, I'm very grateful.

Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is almost here. From 6am-6pm tomorrow, I will offer a large selection of paintings for $250 each. There will be a variety of subjects and sizes, all ready for me to package up and ship to you. To get first dibs, wake up early, visit www.legrandartstudio.com, click on the "Cyber Monday" tab at the top of the page, pick out your painting/s, and follow the purchase instructions. All deals are off at 6pm, so make your choices early!

Summer Sun

"Summer Sun"
oil on canvas
18" x 18"

To start things off, here's a painting I did earlier this year that gets better each time I look at it.  The sketches I used for "Summer Sun" are going to come in handy for a new series of western paintings I have in the works.  If you'd like to see it in person, check out Castle Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  www.castlegallery.com

Hello!

So this is my first official blog post.  If you can't find it on my website, and you can't find it on my Facebook page, hopefully you'll find it here.  I'll try to post regularly with new paintings, works in progress, upcoming exhibits and workshops, and anything else that strikes my fancy.  I occasionally like to indulge myself in excessive blather about art-related topics...this blog page will be here for anything too long-winded for Facebook.  So without further ado, let's get this distraction started.  Here's to another necessary evil in the world of a modern "artist".
