Hey friends. I'll be offering a painting for sale everyday from now 'til Christmas. Like an advent calendar of sorts...except, instead of sharing a bible verse with a piece of chocolate or cheese, I'll be offering each painting at a discount with maybe a story or two. For the most part, I've selected favorites from my "pandemic paintings" and my relatively recent plein air excursions. All paintings will be sold unframed, however, modest framing options are available for those who need a "ready-to-hang" Christmas gift.
First up...
The painting above almost became our Christmas card this year, but my wife opted for something a little more festive (I've already picked out my Christmas Eve offering). This is an invented composition of sorts, painted from my studio window during last winter's impressive snow show. It's a made-up scene, but it looks just like the view from my easel looking west...I could probably explain that more thoroughly, but I don't want to. It's funny how the most abstract notion can also be the most realistic. Speaking of notions, I have a hankering for whatever might be wrapped in aluminum foil in my refrigerator. "Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is soon..."
Here's a song for the season, in case you're into that sort of thing: "The Thanksgiving Filter" by Drive-by Truckers
