More for your Xerox machine...

If you print these stacked on 8.5" x 11", cut them apart, and toss them ten at a time through the open windows of your practical daily driver while blaring Coolio's "Fantastic Voyage"...

you'll probably get a ticket for littering and/or disturbing the peace.

Remember the Humpty Dance?

I'll Give You This Painting

Holy Cow!

The first show at the Main St. Pop-Up was great, but this one is going to be ridiculous...in a good way.  Here's what you need to know...

* Over 100 new paintings
* Free snacks
* Flip flops and cut-off jeans
 * Fun and funky people
* Frozen yogurt across the street
* Loud noises
and...

Kade Pucket, nationally recognized guitar player, will be playing a free concert on Saturday night.  He hits the stage at 8pm...get there early, as this will end up being a standing-room only event.

It'll be a party and you're invited.  So print 400 of these fliers using your employer's copier, give a handful to all your friends, and press your party pants for this weekend.

You Are Invited

Back at 500'

That little dot on the ridge is a bear.

My wife and I just returned from a great adventure in northern Montana.  I swapped my paintbrushes for hiking poles and concentrated on exploring rather than recording.  I could write a book about the trip, but to sum it up, we hiked beyond our level of physical fitness, stood on the shrinking glaciers, encountered many wild beasts, swam in the snowmelt, and ate huckleberry everything.  Oh, and I got bit by a squirrel.

This is the part where I tell you to add my trip to your bucket list, but I won't...I don't want you to go and mess it all up.  But if you must, don't forget the rodent spray.

Duck
oil on canvas
11" X 14"

That last post might've been a little brash...here's a duck to lighten the mood.

I'm just waiting around for the next act of terrorism or natural disaster to happen so we can pretend to be empathetic again...I love reality television.

Minor Repairs
oil on canvas
20" x 24"

I don't have a boat, but...

If I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
I said me upon my pony on my boat

Wooden Boat Show
oil on canvas
20" x 24"

"Hey...you paint that?"

"Yup"

"You know who's boat that is?"

"No, but I like that boat."

"I think it's Phil Laney's.  It's a 60's Century, ya know?"

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah...you didn't get the windshield right."

Buoy
oil on canvas
8" x 10"

One of my favorites from the weekend.  Evidently, weekend warriors habitually tow buoys around the lake and leave them at whatever pier has the biggest party.  Party on you pontoon plunderers.

Lake Wawasee
oil on canvas
10" x 17"

I've painted this four times now. I like the way this type of picture works...or doesn't work.  It's all about that little red dot, isn't it?

Wah-Wah...You've Given Me a Wah-Wah

Lake Life
oil on canvas
12" x 36"

I spent the past few days painting at Lake Wawasee in northern Indiana.  It's a great place to spend a weekend, especially if you've got some friends to dip your toes with.  Thanks to my good pals Bill, Lisa, Audrey, and Courtney, our time at the lake was exceptionally comfortable.  And thanks to IPAPA and the Rapp family, most of my paintings didn't come home with me.

I'll share my lake pictures over the next few days as I set sails for eastern winds...I hear the snow has melted and the road has opened.

As for the scene above, it's a quintessential Lake Wawasee scene and the first of three pictures featuring one of my favorite nautical subjects...the brightly colored buoy.

Spanish Boots of Spanish Leather

I'm looking forward to breaking out my sailboat this weekend at Lake Wawasee.  I may even paint a picture or two.

So, if you need something to remember me by to make your time more easy passin', take heed of western winds and meet me at the South Shore Golf Club on Sunday, June 15 from 1-3pm...I'll be showing my pictures there.

I don't have a sailboat.

Caught in the Act on Canvas

Jerry Blowing Grass in my Pool
oil on canvas
8" x 8"

I did some painting poolside today while relaxing with some friends.  I was planning on sharing the fruits of my leisure with you, but my neighbor covered the wet paint in grass clippings while ogling his way past the swimming pool on his lawn mower...again and again.

Bikinis must make the grass grow, but there's a dirt path on my property line.
