2-Day Workshop—Noblesville, Indiana—May 22nd & 23rd

LeGrand Fighting a Bear by Hannah Rush

That's right folks, at this weekend's workshop, I'm going to fight a bear.  I'll also show you how to paint like me, if you're into that sort of thing.

What I mean is...I'm teaching a 2-day workshop in Noblesville, Indiana on May 22nd & 23rd.  It's going to be a wild good time and there are a few spots left.  Here's the link:  https://www.hcaa-in.org/courses/painting-with-style-and-purpose

Feel free to like, share, hashtag, tweet, and tic tac if you know someone who might be into having fun while painting pictures.

2-Day Workshop—Noblesville, Indiana—May 22nd & 23rd

"So, this is how you paint a fire hydrant with thirty brushstrokes..."

I'm teaching a 2-day workshop in Noblesville, Indiana on May 22nd & 23rd.  It's going to be a wild good time and there are a few spots left.  Here's the link:  https://www.hcaa-in.org/courses/painting-with-style-and-purpose

Seriously, I'm going to show you how to paint a fire hydrant with only thirty brushstrokes.  I mean, you don't have to paint the fire hydrant...you can paint a tree or whatever...but I'll paint the fire hydrant...and it's going to be awesome.

Photo cred to my pal Bob.

Painter at the Helm...Spring Workshops

I have three upcoming workshops, open to picture painters of all levels of experience.  There might be a spot or two available, in case you'd like to participate.  Send an email to wyattlegrand@gmail.com if you'd like more details.

Painting Representationally, Unconventionally
2-day workshop / April 13th & 14th
New Harmony, Indiana

Painting with Style and Purpose
1-day workshop / Saturday, May 8th
Bloomfield, Indiana

Painting with Style and Purpose
2-day workshop / May 22nd & 23rd
Noblesville, Indiana

Each of these classes will focus on using plein air painting (painting outdoors from life) as a starting point in the pursuit of style and artistic vision.  We'll be using a variety of strategies to better understand how we see/interpret the landscape in an effort to paint beyond subject matter alone.  There should be plenty opportunities for laughter and shenanigans, in case you're into that sort of thing.

Here's to art-related sunburns and the smell of turpentine + cut grass...hope to see you soon.

Bathroom Reno
16" x 24" diptych
oil on canvas

I blew out my back trying to pick up a bath towel.  I tried to blame it on 2021 and nothing happened, so I guess I'll hold chicken sandwiches accountable.  Here's to a new year of muscle relaxers, lettuce wraps, and yoga poses...

Flowers and a Rose

"As I was walkin' 'round Grosvenor Square
Not a chill to the Winter but a nip to the air
From the other direction, she was calling my eye
It could be an illusion, but I might as well try..."
